Jaya's Father in the Hospital
My dad has been in the hospital for over a week now. Initially,
he was at Marian Medical center in Palai. Since his condition was critical
at the time he was there for 3-4 days. Even though the initial diagnosis was
acute posterior wall MI, later the diagnosis was confirmed as acute
pancreatitis and cholecystitis secondary to gallstones. Once he was stable
enough to be transferred, he was transferred to Amritha in EKM. Chithra has
been of so much help in transferring and the ongoing care also. Her regular
visits have made the stay easier for Appachan. Yesterday he was moved out of
the ICU to regular room. He is gradually improving, but still pretty weak.

Bad News - when it comes, it pours
This week we saw two of our families grieving over the
loss of their loved one. First George and Philsamma lost their mother. Then
Money learned that his sister died in India. There was a spontaneous
outpouring of support for these two dear families of ours. We extend our
condolences to the grieving family.
Dr. Thomas George's Daughter
Thomas Georges youngest daughter Annakkutty was diagnosed as ALL L1 type
recently. She was taken to CMC VELLORE on March 13, 2006. KMC friends are
organizing a prayer vigil for her. 1st Chemotherapy went smooth. She is doing
fine from what we know.
Update: Thomas George left to UK two days back with his elder son. His wife had taken Annakkutty few weeks back. They plan to continue Annakkutty's treatment in UK at least for the next two years. Thomas George's wife is a Paediatrician working in UK. (Source: Jose Tom on April 30, 06)
Dr. K.R. Sanjeev Passes Away
Many people may not remember our
classmate Dr. Sanjeev K.R. In fact many of us have not seen him after our
internship. He died about an hour back. He was in the Kerala Health Service,
posted at Quilon. Few minutes back Soman telephoned me and told Sanjeev was
taken to Quilon General Hospital where he was pronounced as a 'brought dead'
person and the body is being moved to the mortuary for post mortem, which
may happen tomorrow. Asokan is at present at Calicut and will be back in
Quilon tomorrow only for more details regarding Sanjeev. Sanjeev's wife is an Ayurveda doctor and her
family has a hospital of their own. Sanjeev is from Chengannore. (Source: Dr. Jose Tom)
Dr Asokan attended the funeral of Dr Sanjeev. Elamma payed homage at the morgue, Sallykutty was also present for the funeral with Asokan. He placed a wreath for the 1973 batch as per our directive. (Source: Dr. KM Gopinadhan)
Jose Tom's Father Passes Away:
Jose Tom's father died on March 21, 2006 morning at home in Thevara (Ernakulam).
With everybody's prayers, he had a very peaceful death. Funeral was held on
March 22nd. afternoon.
KMC-ites Had Early Christmas Party at
Cochin
As suggested by Samson we had a mini get together on 11th December, 2005 Sunday
at Dolphin Club, Ernakulam - The same place where we had the 1998 meet. It was
decided to be a male affair since the exams for children start on 15 th and it
is usually a mother's headache.
Aravindakshan, Ramakrishnan, Elias, Mohandas, John KV, Jose PJ, Soman, Gopinathan, Vijayakumar, Mohan ND, Harris, Pattar, Ramachandran, Moola, Asokan, Thomas Philip, Sainudhin, Samson and his son were there. A surprise was Susan who happened to be in Kerala. Chithrathara also joined us. It was nice to meet all of them once again. (Dr. Jose Tom)

PK's Daughter's Wedding
On Sunday, October 23, 2005 several KMC-ites attended the marriage of our
classmate Elias P.K's daughter. Elias is now working at Morning Star Hospital,
Adimali. The marriage was at Trichur. Vijayakumar, Gopi, John K.V, Mohandas,
Aravindakshan, Moola, Jose P.J and Betty, Harris, Asokan, Ramakrishnan,
Ramachandran, Bhaskaran, Soman and Jose Tom were there. by Dr. Jose Tom

Congratulations
to Gangadharan and Chithra
Gangadharan is the winner of ''Balakrishnan
Puraskaram.'' Meena thinks that he received the award for his famous book ''Jeevithamenna
Adbhutham.'' Why congratulate Chithra? Well, according to Meena, Chithra should
get credit for all Gangadharan's accomplishments. (Meena gets credits for
all Mony's accomplishments, for example.)
